The program is essentially divided into two parts; the pre IDC prep program and the PADI Instructor Development Course (IDC). The Pre-IDC preparation program is purely designed to review, refine and develop the skills and knowledge from the Divemaster Course. It runs over a period of 4-5 days before the start of the IDC and helps candidates to make a smooth transition into their new careers as scuba diving instructors. Sessions take place in the classroom and the swimming pool. The PADI Instructor Development Course (IDC) runs over a 12 day period and covers the entire PADI IDC syllabus as well as a number of additional components added to the course to enhance candidates learning experience and help them to make a smooth transition into life as a scuba diving instructor.
Classroom sessions will involve participating in presentations and workshops such as Marketing, The 4 E’s Sales Workshop, Diver Retention, Diver Acquisition, The Business of Diving and Risk Management. During classroom sessions our Platinum PADI Course Director will introduce the PADI Standards and Procedures that apply to each individual PADI Program or Course. The classroom will also be used to prepare for the PADI Examinations by way of practice exams.

In Confined Water candidates will take part in a variety of workshops including the Discover Scuba Diving (DSD) Workshop, The PADI Skill Circuit Workshop, The Rescue Workshop and a Student Control and Positioning Workshop. In Confined Water candidates will also get to practice their skills and rescue exercises further. One of the main features of the Confined Water Sessions will involve candidates practicing and developing their Confined Water Teaching Presentations whilst being evaluated by Platinum PADI Course Director Holly Macleod.
Open Water sessions are conducted on our purpose built training site and also involve participating in a variety of Open Water Workshops such as the Rescue Workshops, The CESA and Descent Workshops, Skills Workshops and The Adventures in Diving Workshop. The main segment of the Open Water Sessions are where the candidates practice and develop their Open Water Teaching Presentations whilst being evaluated by Platinum PADI Course Director Holly Macleod. Whilst in Open Water candidates will get to practice and develop their Rescue Exercise & demonstration and any other skills they wish.
A whole range of additional workshops have been designed and integrated into the program by Holly and are purely intended to help candidates make a smoother transition into the industry. The additional workshops include dive site setup and management for training activities, student control workshops, certifying students and online paperwork and administration which are generally obstacles that new instructors face when starting their new careers. The idea is to give new instructors the knowledge along with some helpful tips on how to conduct their training activities and process their own certifications meaning that when starting out in a new position they will already have the knowledge and confidence to manage their own entire programs from start to finish.
