A huge congratulations to all new PADI Scuba Diving Instructors in the Gili Islands. The February Program saw Georgia, Choco, Hannas, Mans and Chris take the Instructor Development Course (IDC) and have now all graduated as professional PADI Scuba Diving Instructors. These guys will now be teaching their own PADI programs and enjoying rewarding and successful careers within the industry.
The PADI IDC Indonesia in the Gili Islands with Platinum
PADI Course Director Holly Macleod is designed to provide the most
comprehensive instructor training available. As well as covering all of the
core elements required from the PADI IDC syllabus Holly conducts multiple additional
workshops designed to assist candidates in their future careers and making the
transition into teaching as smooth as possible. The course is conducted to a
level far over and above that generally expected within the dive industry,
allowing new instructors to start their new career with the confidence and
knowledge to provide their own high standard of PADI program in an educational
and fun manner.
The program takes place at Trawangan Dive; the first ever
PADI 5 Star IDC Career Development Center (CDC) to be established in the Gili
Islands and the entire Lombok region. Today Trawangan Dive is the only PADI CDC
Center to be found on Gili Trawangan, Indonesia. The center offers some of the
very best training facilities available including an Instructor training
classroom, a dedicated instructor training boat, 2 training swimming pools and
purpose built Open Water training sites which are situated only a stones throw
away and accessed by boats which depart from the beach directly outside the
Dive Center.
The Gili Islands are a rapidly growing tourist destination
and there are many busy dive shops offering a variety of programs and diving
activities meaning that there is always a need for qualified diving
instructors. Most dive centers are conducting huge volumes of entry level
programs and courses are taught by highly experienced instructors and therefore
it becomes a great place to gain vast experience quickly.
All Instructor level training is fully conducted by Platinum
PADI Course Director Holly Macleod, who has worked within the industry for over
a decade and knows exactly what is expected of potential future employers and
future students alike. Having worked in a variety of dive related roles and
travelled to many diving locations she is able to advise candidates of what to
expect from specific job opportunities and specific locations, and of course what
potential employers will expect of them.
The PADI Instructor Development Course runs on an 11 day
schedule with an additional 5 days of pre IDC preparation. The pre IDC
preparation workshops are basically designed to review the theory, knowledge
and skills from the Divemaster Course allowing potential candidates to make a
smooth transition on to the IDC program. The Instructor Course covers all of
the required modules from the PADI syllabus, but also takes it one stage
further. Holly has also introduced a range of additional workshops designed to
help new Instructors when starting their new career. By creating a program that
develops candidates to a level way beyond that expected within industry,
candidates are able to start their new careers with the skills, knowledge and
confidence to be able to provide their own quality courses in a fun and
educational manner.
2015 was an exciting year that saw over 100 dive
professionals choosing the Instructor Development Course with Holly Macleod to
further their education and career within the industry and this has amounted to
Holly certifying nearly 500 Instructor level certifications over the course of
2015. The PADI IDC Indonesia Facebook
Page show all of the latest news and updates from the program including photos
and videos of all previous, present and future candidates.
